Apple iPhone SE Review in First Impression: Apple has finally released its low budget and small size iPhone SE for those users who were disappointed with the increasing size of the iPhone and also for those who have always wanted to experience the iOS ecosystem.
Apple iPhone SE Review
The 4-inch device looks quite similar to iPhone 5S but its internal features are new and innovative. After the launch of iPhone SE, the company slowly withdrew iPhone 5s, which means that from 31st March iPhone SE will be the only small sized iPhone available in the market. Its compact and smooth design, affordable price and the power of iPhone 6S that it comes with is its main highlights. But, the drawbacks of the device are that it does not have 3D Touch and its front camera is of only 1.2 mega pixels.
Having said that, let us take a detailed look at the features and specifications of Apple’s new device, iPhone SE.
The handset comes with a 4-inch screen size and with the angular design language. The top and bottom of the device has the plastic antenna band spread over them. The device is made of aluminum and the new update in the design is that the stainless steel inset logo of Apple will be of the same shade as that of the device, just a little darker to be prominent. The power button is present on the top right side of the device, the underside of the handset has the lightning port and the volume rocker is located on the left hand side. The handset has been build a little thicker and the advantage of this is that the camera bump has gone from the rear side.
Performance and software
iPhone 5s had the AX7 processor and now this new handset runs on the more powerful AX9 processor, therefore the device is as powerful as iPhone 6s and iPad Pro who use the same processor. The main camera of iPhone SE is of 12 mega pixels and it has the capacity to shoot 4K videos. The camera also comes with True Tone flash and a bright display which assists in clicking selfies in dim or low light.
The device comes with the M9 co-processor, which means that iPhone SE will monitor the user’s steps, the flights climbed, or it will be able to recognize when the phone is resting, in short, the device will perform all the functions that we find on the new phones. The auto-voice recognition, Hey Siri, is also enabled in the handset.
The device also comes with the Touch ID fingerprint sensor like iPhone 5s. The sensor is integrated in the home button and apart from unlocking the device, this sensor can also make payments and transactions through Apple Pay.
The iPhone SE has a powerful processor and it has most of the features which were present in iPhone 5s. Though it does not have 3D Touch, it does include the Live Photos playback feature which stitches several images together into a brief animation and allows the user to watch it when they press on a still image.
iPhone SE is the cheapest handset of Apple which comes packed with all those features which a user likes in an iPhone- Live Photos, Fingerprint scanner, Apple Pay and an improved, greater pixel camera. The feature which will be most appreciated by the users is undoubtedly, the return of the small size of the Apple handset, which was being greatly missed by the users.
iPhone SE looks like the successor of iPhone 5s when we talk about the size, design, build and basic features of the phone, but when it comes to the processor, camera quality and internal power of the device then it seems that iPhone SE bears a lot of resemblance with iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s.
This combo of size and power has been priced at a very affordable rate, in fact, its price is the lowest of all the other iPhones. In US dollars, the iPhone SE has been priced at $399 and in Indian dollars the 16 GB variant comes for Rs 39,000.
So, if you want to buy a small sized and a powerful iPhone at an affordable range then iPhone SE will be the best choice for you.
