Asus ZenFone Zoom rolls out with Android 6.0 Marshmallow update: The Taiwanese Smartphone Company, Asus, has made the official announcement about the roll out of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Indian users. This update will be made available only to selected smartphones by March and these smartphones include the recently launched handset, Zenfone Zoom.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will bring in some new Google apps along with a lot of other improvements. Asus has already warned the users that this update will replace some of the ZenUI apps like, ASUS Messenger, ASUS Mail and ASUS Calendar, as the default apps. These three apps will be replaced by new apps, namely, Google Messenger, Gmail and Google Calendar, which will be automatically included with Android M update. But, this replacement will only occur if the users would restore to factory settings after updating their device.
The users, who after restoring their factory settings find out that their ZenUI apps- ASUS Messenger, ASUS Calendar and ASUS Mail is missing, can download these apps from Google Play Store.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will only be available on those smartphones which have been launched in India recently; these mainly include the ZenFone 2 series. Here is a list of the Asus handsets which will offer the Android M update:
ZenFone 2 (ZE550ML, ZE551ML)
ZenFone 2 Deluxe (ZE551ML)
ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE500KL, ZE550KL, ZE601KL)
ZenFone Selfie (ZD551KL)
ZenFone Max (ZC550KL)
ZenFone Zoom (ZX551ML)
Apart from these, the update will also be available on the PadFone S smartphone. The users who own the old ZenFone device do not have to worry as their update notification for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will be available in their devices by April 2016 onwards.
Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow update was released for OEMs and for some selected Nexus device last year. This update only provides enhancement in performance and stability along with headline features like Now on Tap.
Only recently, this update was received by Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge and now Sony Xperia Z5 has also started receiving this update. The adoption rate of Android 6.0 Marshmallow has hit 1 per cent.
