Freedom 251: Adcom to sue Ringing Bells for false statements: Ringing Bells Pvt. Ltd. the Noida based start-up company is yet to get another blow as on Friday Adcom (Advantage Computers’) announced that it will suit a legal action against Ringing Bells. Recently Ringing bells launched world’s cheapest smartphone named Freedom 251 which costs less than $4. At the launch event many prototypes were given which were founded to be Adcom mobile phones. where our mobile phone has been presented to masses for Rs.251, and therefore, would not hesitate from taking any legal actions against the company, in case the entire fiasco impacts Adcom’s brand name or subsequently we face any other kind of losses,” he further added in a statement that “Yes, it is true that although we sold the handsets to Ringing Bells earlier, like we sell Adcom mobiles to lakhs of users, we were absolutely unaware of the reselling plans of the company in question,”

Bhatia says that he cannot find out the reason behind the surprising pricing policy of Ringing bells as they sold them the same device at Rs.3,600 per unit. Mohit Goel the CEO of the Ringing Bells Company was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) regarding the pricing policy of Freedom 251. On thing more which the company did was to send back the money which they got from pre-bookings and they announced that the money will only be taken by them when they will deliver them the phones. The company also claims to give 25,00,000 mobile phones in their first phase. This is said to be one of Modi’s ‘Make in India’ initiatives but on Thursday a government official declared that Government has nothing to do with the smartphone.
