It’s official: Samsung Galaxy S7 is launching on February 21: Samsung is all set to launch its much awaited smartphone Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge on February 21, 2016.
The South Korean company has sent invitations to the press members for the ‘Galaxy Unpacked 2016’ event, thereby making the announcement official. This event is scheduled to take place before MWC 2016, which will take place on 22nd February. The ‘Galaxy Unpacked 2016’ event will start at 7pm Barcelona time and apart from Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, the LG Company will also unveil its G5 model on the same day.
Up till now Samsung has released only one teaser video called ‘the next Galaxy’. The video shows a half opened box highlighting glowing edges which forms the number ‘7’ indicative of Galaxy S7.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will be officially available in the US and European stores from March 11, 2016, and a little later it will be introduced to the other international markets.
There are rumors afloat regarding a third version of the Galaxy S7 series called Galaxy S7 Plus, which is being expected to be launched at the MWC event. But, till now there has been no official announcement regarding the third version from the Company and therefore on 21st February only Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will be launched.
Going by the rumored specifications, the new model of Samsung, Samsung Galaxy S7 will have a 5.1 inch QHD display and will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. The main camera will be of 12 mega pixels with LED flash and the front camera or the selfie camera is expected to have 5 mega pixels. The phone will offer an internal storage of 64 GB along with a 4GB RAM. The design of Galaxy S7 will be very much similar to that of Samsung Galaxy S6 and it will come in an all-black version to add more style to the existing design. It also expected that the handset will be launched by the manufacturers with Exynos 8890 CPU in some of the smartphone markets.
With four mobile devices to be launched in Barcelona, the MWC is strengthening its status as the most important mobile event in the world. The four mobile devices which are set to be launched are Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G5, the Huawei Company is rumored to launch the P9 and the Hugo Barra of the Xiaomi Company will also be introducing the brand new Mi 5 on February 24th.
The Samsung Company had recently launched its Samsung Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic in India at a price of Rs 24,300 and Rs 25,800 respectively. At IFA Berlin the company had introduced the Tizen OS based smartwatch for the first time last year.
The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on 21st February at de Conventions International de Barcelona and will start at 19:00 CET (11:30 PM iST). The event will also be streamed live on Samsung’s YouTube channel.
