LG G5 vs Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: Let’s Compare Them
Design and Hardware:
Let us start with the G5, which is redesigned completely from the ground up. The device is wrapped with the aluminum body and it features a chamfered edge that will run around at the back of the phone. Though, it may not feel like the metal. LG has coated the phone in the primer and paint with a process called microdizing.
What really matters is that what you find, once you pull on the bottom part of the phone. The bottom chin is completely and easily removable and this is an essential design factor because it will make the phone modular. You can easily swap in to different modules like the HiFi DAC or the camera grip from the Bang and Olufsen.

Not for the LG but yes for the whole industry this is something different.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is made up of the same metal and glass materials. This makes for the mighty gorgeous smartphone but for a slippery body and fingerprint magnet. It is a bit thicker and also bigger. To make more comfortable grip the curved back and frame have rounded off.
LG has the upper hand and a much smaller phone. Despite of being bigger Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge feels somehow nicer.
Both the smartphone are nearly identical, as both are powered by the Snapdragon 820 processor, the Adreno GPU and RAM of 4GB. Whereas the Galaxy S7 Edge is both dust and water resistant. So as far the Design and Hardware is compared the Samsung Galaxy S7 is the winner.
Both the smartphones support the Quick Charge of 3.0 but wireless charging can be used by only the Galaxy S7 Edge users and with LG G5 you will get an extra battery.

The LG G5 carries a battery of 2800mAh and the Galaxy S7 Edge has little bigger of 3600 mAh. Both the smartphones are good but if you value screen on times then the Galaxy S7 Edge will win by a little margin.
– The LG G5 is the smallest smartphone among the two with a 5.3 inch IPS LCD panel
– Resolution of 2560/1440pixel
– The IPS LCD screens are known for the accurate colours and great viewing angles.
– The QHD resolution makes the device super sharp and 554 pixels per inch
Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge:
– 2560/1440 resolution
– A larger screen of 5.5 inch
– This smartphone sports a Super AMOLED display
– S7 features the curved glass
Samsung decides to lower the MP count for a better low light performance and also the pixel has been increased to 1.4 microns. Aperature is f/1.7 and main camera is aided by the optical image stabilization.
The LG G5 comes with Android Marshmallow and the latest version offer a plenty of improvements. The biggest change is of lack of app drawer.
On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge come with Android Marshmallow. As this time Samsung decided to clean up its software so this would the best TouchWiz version as it is clean and fluid. Animations is also much nicer and UI no longer feels slow.
Now finally the biggest arises that which one you should buy? You cannot go wrong with either one because both the smartphone do the typical things like they both have good cameras, enjoy from good battery life, sport great displays and both are fast.
But I would prefer the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge because it is a much more refined smartphone experience and the LG G5 feels like the first generation camera and many more ways.
Yes, surely LG will have it all the figured out in its next version. But yes if you really feel compelled by the G5’s modularity, then the phone will give a shot. If you are going to rather play it safe, then the S7 or S7 Edge will be the safest bet that money can buy.
