Among small number of alpha testers, the testing of the new future is happening, reported an Twitter user running v5.112.0-alpha.423 build on Monday. At the night time the UI is said to switch automatically and in the day it will come back to the standard white background UI black text.
On top of Material Design overhaul the Night Mode UI reportedly sits of the app that has been in testing since the last month, 9 to 5 Google reported. With hamburger slide-out menus it also features slightly different button placements, overflow buttons, as well as the floating action buttons i.e. FAB for the composing of the new tweets.
Earlier in this month, Twitter rolled out the new Connect tab on the mobile apps to make it easier for the people to find out accounts to follow. This feature is available in Twitter’s latest app in Android and iPhone.
Based on those already followed the tab suggests a list of accounts, as well as the popular ones in the area, Ricardo Castro the product manager said in a blog post.
Castro said that, to give you the best recommendations that they will continue to refine over time, they look at who you already follow, popular accounts in your local area, tweets you like and what is happening in the world right now and much more. They will also let you know exactly why they are showing you each recommendation.
