If you have a Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, you might be interested in knowing that Android 7 is coming this month to those devices. It has been a question that has been asked several times from Galaxy S7 owners, and now we finally have a release date for Android 7.
Samsung Galaxy S7 Gets Android Nougat This Month
The good news here is that this month will be when Samsung Galaxy S7 owners will get the Android 7.0 update. Android Nougat had an official beta program available for the past few weeks, but at the end of December 2016 the program closed. That was a good sign because that meant the Nougat beta program was officially done, and that the actual Android 7.0 release would be right around the corner. When it comes to beta though, many Samsung owners are leery of them because they can contain various issues and bugs. You then have to live with those issues until the official Android 7 release comes out.
We know that the beta program ended because the Nougat beta testers ended up getting a notification right from Samsung. The notice said that the program will end on December 30, 2016. This means that if you had a problem, you could no longer use the Error Report or Suggestions area to send feedback to the team from the app itself. If you had a problem, then you had to then send a report through the Community option. Samsung wrote in the official notice that the Android Nougat 7.0 official update will be out in January.
There is no real rollout date confirmed as of yet, at least according to Samsung. The carriers will have to give the go-ahead for the software release before it can actually be released to the public and through the over-the-air updates. This means that Android Nougat users are looking at an end of January date of official Android Nougat release on their Samsung Galaxy S7 devices. There is always a chance too of the release being pushed back a couple weeks. If this happens, the official Android Nougat 7.0 release might not be until February.
