Xiaomi Mi Drone Launched with 4K Video: On Wednesday, Xiaomi unveiled its first drone i.e. a quadcopter called as the Mi Drone. Similar to like other Mi devices, Xiaomi has worked with Flymi i.e. a China-based company, on the development of the drone.

The new Mi Drone is equipped with a camera and it will be available in two variants i.e.
- One can shoot video in 4K and it has been priced at CNY 2,999 or roughly Rs. 31,000.
- The another one is an affordable variant that can shoot 1080p video priced at CNY 2,499 or roughly Rs. 26,000.
The company has announced that the Mi Drone version 1080p will be crowdfunded on the Mi Home app that is starting on Thursday, while the Mi drone version 4K will be available for testing through open beta programme beginning late July. At this price point, Xiaomi’s first Mi Drone is quite cheaper than some of its competitors in drone segment like DJI and this is from the most popular drone popular drone makers.
With the detachable shields the Mi Drone packs a 4-propeller system and is backed a 5100mAh battery of 17.4V and it claims to offer 27 minutes of the non-stop flying. The 4K versions as well as 1080p versions offer up to 104-degree wide-angle lens. The 4K camera can record at 3840/2160 pixels and it supports recording of the stills in RAW format.
Xiaomi says that drone packs camera that is attached to a 3-axis gimbal that stabilizes up to 2,000 vibrations per second. The device includes Glonass and GPS. The Mi Drone comes with Autopilot option that will allow it for the automatic take-off and landing, tap to fly on map, waypoint flight path planning, circle an object on the ground. The device detects low battery and returns home automatically. The drone also does the real-time location tracking for retrieval of the device even the post-crash scenario.

At the edge of no-fly zones the company boasts that the Mi Drone can hover automatically. For maximum reach the remote control comes with built in PCB array. It also sports Modular design and foldable landing gear. If the Drone is disconnected from the remote, then Drone will return back to the user automatically.
